Update: Rehoming Sanctuary
Recap: A Vacaville animal rescue founder & caregiver of over 50 years has been declining physically & mentally to the point that they are not able to care for their 90+ animals, mainly cats and pigeons. We responded to a request to help last July, and we have been going several times a week to feed, water and clean.
Oct 9: The latest is that we have been asked to remove all the animals from the property. With 50+ pigeons, 6 roosters, 20 adults cats in an enclosure and 10+ cats who are free roaming, this is an undertaking that we’ve never experienced. It’s both daunting and overwhelming, but with the support of our community, we know we can accomplish just about anything… one step at a time.
Supplies in the last couple of weeks have been amazing… cat & kitten food, toys, carriers, dishes, cleaning stuffs! Thank you!
Now we need physical help:
- moving nine 10′ x 10′ kennels from the other property to Herd & Flock
- setting them up,
- putting together scaffolding/igloos/feeders/waterers,
- covering in tarps/roofing/plywood, and
- finally catching and transporting the animals from the closing rescue to here.
Oct 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23: Move kennels and set up
Oct 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, Nov 3, 4, 5: Continue set up and catch/remove animals
Free any of those dates? Please email info@herdandflockanimalsanctuary.org if you can help.
