Big Day of Giving, May 7

Herd & Flock’s first-ever Sacramento Region Big Day of Giving (BDOG) campaign officially launched today! Every dollar you give between now and May 7 will be matched, up to $10,000, thanks to the Sunshine Polka Dot Foundation and a generous anonymous donor.
Since 2019, we’ve rescued nearly 1,000 animals – chickens, pigs, goats, cows, geese, and dozens more – providing emergency shelter for animals in crisis and a permanent forever home for over 150 residents on our 60-acre sanctuary in Vacaville.
We’re Vacaville’s only vegan sanctuary, and we’re also a community hub for compassion:
Over 1,000 visitors have come to meet our animals. They leave seeing farmed animals through a different lens.
We’re active in the LEAP program, a humane alternative to 4-H, helping the next generation build a compassionate relationship with animals.
We bring humane education into schools and community organizations across the region.
We partner with Solano County programs to provide job training for youth and enrichment for seniors.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to unlock the full $10,000 match, for a BDOG total of $20,000.
Every gift, no matter the size, moves us closer – and also has a chance to be randomly boosted up to $750 (by the BDOG foundation). And using your Golden 1 Credit Union card to donate, will help us earn a share of $100,000 in bonus funding!
For Olivia, Saffy, Finn, Goldie, Bendy, Frank & April, and all 130 residents who call Herd & Flock home, thank you.
